Dial-up beware, behind the cut is the second and largest edition of photos. I've reduced these images a bit for size. A gentle reminder, I do hold the copyright for these images. If you would like to use any of them please contact me beforehand.
I felt the despair of hopes bombed away in the Cologne subways )

Lthrboots, Engelmacher and Holocaust Humanity CANCELLED!!! [Mar. 26th, 2005|07:32 pm]
To everyone that was planning on coming out to the show tonight at Indigo, I just got word that it is CANCELLED!!! The venue apparently double-booked the night with metal bands. This is ridiculous.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that industrial-club promotion did not arrange this show and that this does not affect our future shows at Club Indigo. Assemblage 23 is still on for April 16, 2005.

Tonight is our last night at Episodes for Protocol. I hope to see everyone there.

Tomorrow night I'll be DJing at this event:

Lthrboots
(http://www.lthrboots.com)

The wild visuals and hectic sounds of
HOLOCAUST HUMANITY
(http://www.holocausthumanity.com)

and the strange elegance of ENGELMACHER.

All will be performing LIVE at Club Indigo,
2702 Main St in Deep Ellum in Dallas.

Doors at 9pm
Tickets are $5 at the door.
18 and up with valid ID.
With DJs Per, EmptyX, Sturmovik, Son of Sam, Cyberina
Flux (?), Ragnarok, Lourdes, and Newtkeeper (plus
other surprises!) mixing in the live room between sets
and in the front lounge all night.

Engelmacher is a new project uniting members of unitcode:machine and Whore. It also happens to consists of the other member of Awen.

With a name meaning "back-street abortionist", they're bound for great things.

Death In June interview [Mar. 24th, 2005|07:20 pm]
I will be conducting an interview for Heathen Harvest with Douglas P. of Death In June on Friday, April 8th in Austin, Texas. Now I need to compose my questions.

Are there any specific questions you would ask?

Friday is the last night at Episodes [Mar. 24th, 2005|03:29 pm]
So this Friday is our last night DJing at Episodes. The owner wants to go back to doing Hip-Hoppity nights there. We all would have liked more than 3 weeks to have shown him our crowd's potential, but that's his prerogative. It's frustrating but we'll be in another Dallas venue for a weekly night soon. Protocol will be relocating.

Thanks to everyone who came out to support us there. We hope to have a big turn-out from all of you this last week to show him what he's missing.

Our team will still be booking live shows at Indigo. Check http://www.industrial-club.com and [info]protocol_dallas for updates.

Awen on soulseek [Mar. 24th, 2005|02:34 pm]
In preparation for demo distribution I have pulled the Awen tracks from my slsk files. To those who got them from me while they were available, enjoy. I wish there was a way to find out exactly how many people traded those tracks.

We're currently working on new material with the assistance of [info]sig38, which constitutes a reunion of sorts actually because he and I started making music together about 10 years ago now. It's good working with you again Allen.

Our first release will consist of new material and the tracks previously available, albeit some will be reworked. We will be returning to the style of "Little Edelweiss" on several songs utilizing guitar, piano and drum.

We're looking for people interested in contributing violin, cello and bagpipes.

Awen page revamped [Mar. 21st, 2005|10:06 pm]
Awen's Myspace page has been given a new look using the Myspace editor.

I opted to use a hovering Elder Futhark font over the user's names; scrolling over the text changes the letters to runes. The only complaints I have about this font are that it turns majuscule letters upside-down (thereby inverting their magical connotations) and that it does not recognize the combination of characters requiring a single rune (TH, EI, ING), but I suppose that's largely inconsequential. This font at least recognizes and properly transliterates most alphabetical letters.

It makes the page a little more aesthetically pleasant to my eye. I hated that white background.

If you haven't visited in a while drop by and take another look.

St. Patrick was not Irish. [Mar. 17th, 2005|03:11 pm]
[music |Freya Aswynn - Shades of Yggdrasil]

St. Patrick's Day ostensibly celebrates the canonised cunt's exhile of snakes from Ireland. Malarkey! There never were any snakes in Ireland. It is actually a celebration of the Irish being converted to the alien Eastern ways of Christianity.

Patrick himself was responsible for suppressing poets and shamans that followed the old ways and practices. He felt he was forced to, in his own words, "curse their fertile lands, so that they became dreary bogs; to curse their rivers, so that they produced no fish; to curse their very kettles, so that with no amount of fire and patience could they ever be made to boil; and as a last resort, to curse the Druids themselves, so that the earth opened and swallowed them up."

Patricius, the wrongly dead and dispossessed still hold you accountable!

The real Patrick.

New track, "Leonine" up on MySpace [Mar. 14th, 2005|03:23 pm]
Free Photo Hosting by FreePhotoServer.com

For those of you that are the select few familiar with the track, this is a new version. The original vocal was scrapped and the track is in two parts now.

Listen to Awen here.

I'd love to hear how you perceive this. When you create something it's nearly impossible to experience it impartially.

b-day black and blues [Mar. 8th, 2005|01:39 am]
I had a very nice birthday. Thank you to [info]dj_per, [info]djemptyx & [info]anomiefound for coming out and drinking ambrosia with me.

We imbibe with the divine ones, if only for a moment. Lost, beautiful, eternal.

Awen lyrics [Feb. 25th, 2005|01:41 pm]
I've updated the tracks for the Awen page on myspace to include lyrics for each song (in the case of "Call to Arms", a summary). You can read them here: http://www.myspace.com/awenmusic

I feel that, should a song contain lyrics, they are one of the most important elements. I want mine to be as clear as possible.

It is my view that should you have something to say, you should make it intelligible!

[music |Wolfsblood - Algiz]

There are so many new developments. Our new Friday club night here in Dallas will start March 4th. It is called Protocol and the venue and location are excellent. http://www.industrial-club.com/protocol/

I will be writing music reviews and conducting interviews with Neofolk and Post-Industrial musicians for Heathen Harvest, http://www.heathenharvest.com. I'll keep my journal updated with links for the reviews and will be promoting the interviews.

In other news, Death In June is apparently returning to Austin for a performance April 8th. I believe he's chosen a handful of cities where his past performances were without incident. Who wants to make a pilgrimage, [info]fascio?

[info]sig38's wedding, me on the right (now on the Right) [Feb. 17th, 2005|12:32 am]
The following image has rolled out of the annals of history, indifferent to vanity. It is a true thing. I was the best man at 18 years of age, I believe.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Youth is the Saturnian Reign,
the Golden Age on earth again,
when figs are grown on thistles
and pigs betailed with whistles and wearing silken bristles
live ever in clover
and cows fly over,
delivering milk at every door,
and Justice never is heard to snore
and every assassin is made a ghost and, howling,
is cast into Baltimost!
